Spiritual Direction

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” –Albert Einstein21397893394_85e7a7d000_o

“Spiritual Direction” is a fancy word for being helped to notice, explore, and deepen your sense of the miraculous, the divine, the holy, or “God” in the midst of your life.

Perhaps you are understanding God in new ways that do not fit models you were taught, nor fit perfectly with understandings of God in churches or groups you have tried out. Perhaps you are wondering if or how God exists.

Perhaps you have been feeling really full and creative, and you are wondering what God is inviting you or calling you to do. Perhaps you have felt really “dry” spiritually recently and want to see how God will renew you. Perhaps you have gone through situations in your life that have made you question God, and you haven’t felt comfortable talking about that with anyone.

These are some of the questions that bring people to spiritual direction. Bring all these observations, questions, and above all an openness.

How it works:

Our pastor Rev. Jenn Wilder is a trained Spiritual Director. Often, spiritual direction occurs in 1-on-1 conversations with Rev. Jenn that last about 45 minutes to an hour. She will listen well, ask meaningful questions, and encourage you to enter more deeply into conversations with God. Together you may uncover new ways of praying and approaching life spirit-FULL-ly.

If it interests you more, group spiritual direction and day- or weekend-long retreats are possible too.
